To Disable an Artist, which means that the artist is still in the database but invisible to the public, Edit the chosen artist and scroll down to the bottom of the page until you see Publishing Options (Just above save). Click this and it will show you a box which says published, untick this and click on save.
To Delete and Artists, Edit the chosen Artist, scroll down to the bottom and click on Delete. This will permanently remove the artist from the site.
If you have previously disabled an artist and you want it back, go to the top menu and hover on Content Management and click on Content (or click here). This will show you all site content, scroll down until you see the disabled artist, click on Edit. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Publishing Options and tick Published. Click on save and the artists will re-appear on the side menu.
