GIG LIST![]() Special Guest to Kathryn Williams & Neill MacColl Sat 29th March 2008 LEICESTER MUSICIAN Agent: Nigel Morton   Like so many artists driven to support their dream MAX has covered a lot of ground, literally and metaphorically, to achieve his current standing as one of the UK’s most significant new singer/songwriters. His journey has seen him perform and record around the world, linking with artists and producers such as Lily Allen (he arranged and conducted horns for the album “Alright Still”), Manu Chao (Politik Kills), Prince Fatty (guitar, bass and writing credits on the album ”Survival of the Fattest”), Craig Pruess, John Leckie, Mike Pelanconi, Futurecut, Robin Scott, Mattafix, Little Barry, Nostalgia 77 etc etc. He has worked as an examiner – touring New Zealand for Trinity Exam Board, a teacher – he was a faculty member of the Bath International Guitar Festival, has written tutor books, produced short film scores and lectured throughout the UK. His writing career started while at music college where he formed MAP acoustic guitar duo with Pete Harris (Gareth Gates, Andy Abraham). In the process he created his own independent record label ‘MAP Records’, going on to release numerous recordings, and incidentally, graduating with a first class degree. His original music has featured on TV and radio around the world from “Greys Anatomy”(US) to “Gardeners World”. He is a member of the writing panel for Private and Confidential Music, and also regularly co-writes with luminaries such as Craig Pruess (Bend it like Beckham), Lou Mullen (De Souza), Benedict Lamdin (N77), Liz Lenten (Auburn), etc. These days he concentrates on his solo career with his debut album scheduled for release mid 2008. His sound combines an electric rangeof influences - from Marvin Gaye to Led Zeppelin, David Bowie to Curtis Mayfield. |
